Southeast Coast overview

Sri Lanka’s southeast coast is not as developed as its southwest coast thus meaning its natural landscapes are far superior! Two of Sri Lanka’s largest national parks are found here with Yala National Park and Maduru National Park both home to a wide selection of flora and fauna. Sammanturai is a large city on the southeast coast and the beaches and seascapes here are breathtaking. Tourists should only attempt to explore the forested areas of the national parks with a guide as losing your way is easier than many realise as the parkland is a labyrinth of trees, undergrowth and possibilities to get lost.
